Duomo di Milano (God & Men) No one will not be enraptured by its
grandeur. However, it is strange: I don't feel God, no matter how long I have
sojourned in its nave and aisles, decorated with wonderful
statues of Biblical figures. Between its magnificent marble columns, I
only felt coldness, and the light is dim, air damp. Following its Gothic arches pointing high,
supposedly, to heaven, my eyes met warm and bright colors, only on those stained glass windows, painted with Biblical stories. It seems to make men fearful, with intention,
and suggest only in God's kingdom, there exists, and one
can find glory and happiness. I doubted: Behind this splendid architecture, could
there be a conspiracy? Then, my thoughts took me back to an old
cemetery I had just visited, and wondered: Why do we need a gravestone on earth, guarded
by angels, if men go to join God after death? A modern poster, outside the church, caught
my attention. It may look superficial, but have deeply
moved me: Perhaps, we don't need to look up to God for
hope, It is love between men that holds the promise
for men.
