On Thanksgiving, I cook baby ribs with bitter melon in a clay pot, make millet congee with sweet potato and yellow squash, and choose a pumpkin pie with ground ginger for I want to remind myself that life is a mixture of many tastes and has many twists and turns, and even in most turbulent days, one must remain hopeful, thankful and gracious. But I can't drink tonight - I have been "drunk" for a while too long.
