A New Day
On the day a new president is sworn in, at this small place in the north, snow is still thick but fresh. The earth sparkles under the brilliant morning sun as if millions of stars had fallen from the summer night, looking brighter than ever. And the river, though in silence, under snow and ice, I know, is flowing steadier than ever. I have a new mood too. I put away those red and black dresses - my new sweaters in grey and blue tones, my new jeans, my new scarf and gloves suit my new mood better. It is time to work hard and see ideas implemented. And perhaps, from this day forward, my steps will be steadier too. |
