On a cold November day, the Blue
Ridge was sparsely dotted with the last bit of fall color. Bears must have
fallen into sleep in their dens. Taking the Appalachian Trail up to the Hawksbill
summit and then following the Rose river to Dark Hollow Falls, I was
surprised to see how green and lush mosses are along the mountain ridges and
in the canyon, bringing back memories of the Pacific Northwest… |
